H2K was founded in Harrogate in 2000 by Hazel Barry, who had spent years formulating oils and scents for her own sensitive skin. The range that came out of it was built for reactive skin from the first bottle rather than adapted for it later.
The founding ingredient is Kalahari melon seed oil, which she introduced to skincare in 2000 and which remains the key ingredient across the range. The melon grows across the Namibian desert, where it is an important source of water for the San people; the oil is pressed from its seed and is used for its calming effect on the skin.
Nine fragrance families is a lot for one house, and it is the reason H2K works across a mixed estate. A wellness-led property can specify Calm Seas or Organic; a city hotel can take Warm Amber or Cherry Velvet; a spa can run Lavender & Sandalwood through treatment rooms — all from one supplier, one order and one delivery.
The sensitive-skin formulation matters more in this region than the marketing usually admits. Hard water, air conditioning and long-haul travel all leave guests’ skin drier than they expect, and a range built for reactive skin generates measurably fewer complaints at the front desk.
H2K has also moved to refillable bottles with secure wall fittings for hospitality — so a property converting away from miniatures is not choosing between the fragrance it wants and the format it needs.
Our H2K agreement covers retail as well as hospitality across all our markets, so the range can extend to a spa or boutique retail counter rather than stopping at the bathroom.

Cherry Velvet, end to end
Rose and black cherry across a nourishing bath and shower gel, a smoothing hand and body cream and a softening hand wash — with the hydrating lip balm, shea butter and aloe vera, that goes on the turndown tray.
Nine fragrance families work this way. A property picks one and holds it through every format rather than assembling a bathroom from four different houses.
Spa, wellness and turndown
Lavender and Sandalwood, shown with the room fragrance. The scented candle and the reed diffuser carry the same accord as the bath line, so a spa reception, a treatment room and the guest bathroom can hold one scent.

The magnesium range
Everything else H2K makes is an amenity. OMG is not: it is topical magnesium for muscle recovery and sleep, and it is bought rather than consumed — specified for treatment rooms, retailed at the spa desk, and stocked by gyms and sports facilities.
Fifteen actives, not one
Most magnesium creams carry a single active. OMG carries fifteen, at 15% magnesium, absorbed through the skin. The device on the pack is the periodic-table pairing of O and Mg — which is also, deliberately, the point.
Magnesium Recovery Cream
250ml, 180ml and 30ml. With pain-relieving capsicum and pinene; arnica and rosemary for muscle and joint stiffness; aloe vera, rosehip, melon seed oil, shea and cocoa butter to moisturise without clogging pores; lavender and camphor to soothe.
Magnesium Sensitive Spray
150ml and 30ml. Topical magnesium with lavender, arnica and rosehip. For aches and endurance recovery, and for a better night’s sleep. Melon seed oil makes the formula gentle enough for sensitive skin and frequent use.
Why housekeeping cares
No chalky residue, no industrial menthol smell. It absorbs cleanly, so it does not transfer to jewellery, bed linen or training kit — which is the practical objection to every other product in this category.
